Hi! all
i'm trying to write NS code over flat plate, using finite difference method, and Mac Cormack's technique. As described in CFD by j.d. anderson chaptr 10. I have been trying it for past 1 month, with no luck yet. my predicted temp. keeps on decreasing, and my corrected temp keeps on increasing, and thus eventually @ one point, my predicted temp becomes negative. has any1 of u ever tried this program, and help me out with it. or if you have faced such an error earlier. any suggestions would be really helpful. thanks a lot. regards varun |

Hello,
I've implemented in the past the algorithm described in Anderson for the flat plate (Fortran 95) with no particular problem. If you follow carefully the description and do some hand calculation (just to check if your code does what is supposed to do) I'm sure you can achieve the same result. Regrading the temperature I've obtained qualitatively the same graphics as the one presented in Anderson. My suggestion is to carefully review the boundary conditions, usually the devil is in details. Do |
