Hi!
I'm working at the re-entry problems now, using simple engineering formulas to estimate heat fluxes. I would like to account for radiation from the shock wave. So I wonder, can we treat shock wave as radiative surface, assuming that heat flux from it is q=emissivity*Boltzman_constant*T^4 ? And if yes, then what is the estimation for emissivity of hot ionized gas? |

Hi
which simple engineering formulas used to estimate heat fluxesin reentry capsule? did you used Detra, Kump & Riddel formula? |
