LES in real aerodynamics

Hi, all:
Is LES now can be used to simulate the real flow around a wing or blade? What's the best LES model for compressible flow? I looked at some paper. All of them ignore several term of the filtered NS equations. Seems they only modeled the SGS stress and heat flux. While other term like pressure dilation term is ignored. According to their explanation, these terms are small in the case of isotropic flow. Is this true for the flow around wing? Thanks a lot! |

CFD still cannot provide comprehensive solution to the real-world problems.
