HI

I had been trying to find out the airfoil description of RAE 2822 series. The RAE refers to the ROYAL AIRCRAFT ESTABLISHMENT, and that it is a supercritical airfoil, but I have found no data about what the '2822' refers to! Similar to NACA family of airfoils, do the RAE series too has a description in these digits? If so, where can I find them?

Kindly reply.
Bharati.

Hi,
do you need the airfoil coordinates of RAE2822 ? If this is the case, check this website:

http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/wind/val...af/raetaf.html

specifically the "geom.txt" link from the above page (you have the points of the airfoil).

For more details about the airfoil check the original reference also given on the website (not sure you will find what 2822 stands for but you could try).

Thanks for that info!
But I need to know what does 'R''A''E' stands for and what does '2''8''2''2' means? I am unable to find it.

Thanks
