Hello all,
I am a student relatively new to Openfoam. I am building a pre-existing fracture geometry (as in the figure in attached) and I am facing issues on the inlet faces which are curves faces. Here below is the error: --> FOAM FATAL ERROR: Trying to specify a boundary face 4(11 26 25 10) on the face on cell 1 which is either an internal face or already belongs to some other patch. This is face 0 of patch 0 named inlet. From function polyMesh::setTopology ( const cellShapeList& cellsAsShapes, const faceListList& boundaryFaces, const wordList& boundaryPatchNames, labelList& patchSizes, labelList& patchStarts, label& defaultPatchStart, label& nFaces, cellList& cells ) in file meshes/polyMesh/polyMeshFromShapeMesh.C at line 357. FOAM aborting Aborted (core dumped) The blockMeshDict File is also in attached. Please help me out with issue. I have trying to solve the problem without any solution. Best Regards, Axel |

I tried to copy the blockMeshDict from the doc file of your thread but I was unable to run it. Something is wrong with that format.

I was able to build the mesh without the face that are generating the issues. As you can see in the picture I am attaching to this post there is something strange between the blocks and the faces you are trying to build.
B10(blue in the picture) is intersecting with B6(green), you can build the face (9 24 25 10) because of this fact but you cannot build the face (26 25 10 11) because of it. If you solve the intersection problem perhaps you could not build the faces of the inlet. In order to solve the problem you have to create clone vertices to define the faces that are shared between these blocks. |

Dear yMorH,
Thanks much for your reply. I got your point. Will implement it. Thanks, Axello |
