Apologies as not a CFD question but there seems to be a number of people here who understand Gmsh and I am trying to get some advice on Gmsh

I want to create a Mesh but it is not for FEM, what I require is a minimum Mesh, that is if the object being Meshed is a cube, I would like a single 2d Quad mesh for each face. For more complicated rectangular objects then each face made of a minimum number of quad or triangular facets.

Obviously if the shapes are not flat or have circular edges then I would like a more regular mesh. Now I am aware that some software simplifies meshes by. a process called decimation, does Gmsh support decimation? what about a more direct approach i.e straight to minimum mesh.

Could somebody point me in the right direction, thanks
