Dear Forum Users,
i am writing my master thesis about a conjugate heat transfer simulation of a battery module and i am stuck on the meshing of the solid domain (cold plate). Unfortunately i am not sure how to proceed and i am hoping that someone can help me out a little. The fluid domain has been meshed using ICEM CFD with the blocking function. I managed to get a quality better than 0.65 with Hexa-elements and a reasonable number of volume elements. For the processing i am using OpenFoam with the pimpleFoam solver and different turbulence models (LES and RAS). This would be the first part of my thesis, which is practicaly done. For the second part i would like to manage the heat transfer between the cells and the cold plate, and the conjugate heat transfer between fluid and cold plate. As i said i cannot manage to get a reasonable mesh of the cold plate. I tried with ICEM CFD (blocking and automated mesh) but i cannot get a good enough mesh (quality better than 0.5) Is there a way that i could get an automated mesh wich will also work later with OpenFoam and have a good quality? I would be very grateful if someone could help me out a little. Best Regards Georgi |
