I have the same problem like you. I found that it might be caused by the decomposing method. the scotch that you use will cut overtopping face and then some faces in your overtopping face will be boundries. It will be sloved by simple method. but it is too much consumed in simple way. I still have no better way to slove it . |

Hello Niels
I found that the overtopping utility is affected by parallel ways. In other words, the soctoch method will decompose the whold computation domain (overtopping face) and then some original internal face will become boundries. so it will fail in this situation. like this Overtopping function. But it will work well in "simple" parallel method. I don't know if my thought is correct and if it is right, I still have no better way to solve it. Thank you Last edited by Di Mu; February 28, 2022 at 07:09. Reason: sorry for wrong words. soctoch -scotch and whold -whole. forgive my poor English |

Hi all.,
I am trying to measure overtopping discharge behind the revetment. I make toposet and createPatchdict, I got the error "Face 4678614 specified in set overtoppingFlux is not an external face of the mesh. This application can only repatch existing boundary faces.". Please help me to deal with this problem TopoSet actions ( { name overtoppingFlux; type faceSet; action new; source boxToFace; sourceInfo { box (61.64 0.001 0.84) (63.52 3.6599 0.85); // Define your overtopping area } } { name porousCells; type cellSet; action new; source surfaceToCell; sourceInfo { file "/data2/studyi/hybrid/Case3/RW_porous2/constant/triSurface/Revetment.stl"; includeInside true; includeCut true; includeOutside true; nearDistance 0.1; curvature 30; outsidePoints ((58 1 0.85)); // Ensure this is outside the revetment } } ); Thanks |
