Thank you for your response.

I tried both your suggestions and I am getting the same error for this problem I even tried it even for a 3D case and still getting the same error. I am sure I am doing something out of the ordinary for it to happen like that.

I even tried it with bejibattjes tutorial cases and had the same thing happening.

Is it possible for you to share your topoDict and controlDict file for the problem? Or is there any other file I should be thinking about?

Thank you
hello edwubraheev,
I have the same problem like you. I found that it might be caused by the decomposing method. the scotch that you use will cut overtopping face and then some faces in your overtopping face will be boundries. It will be sloved by simple method. but it is too much consumed in simple way. I still have no better way to slove it .

Hello Niels
I found that the overtopping utility is affected by parallel ways. In other words, the soctoch method will decompose the whold computation domain (overtopping face) and then some original internal face will become boundries. so it will fail in this situation. like this Overtopping function. But it will work well in "simple" parallel method. I don't know if my thought is correct and if it is right, I still have no better way to solve it.

Thank you
