Folks,
Got the Ubuntu version of OpenFoam v1912 installed on the Linux Subsystem for Windows. …
Well sort of.
I large number of the tutorials do not run.
Odd thing is they give a common error.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
Cannot find file "points" in directory "polyMesh" in times "0" down to constant

From function virtual Foam::IOobject Foam::fileOperation::findInstance(const Foam::IOobject&, Foam::scalar, const Foam::word&) const
in file global/fileOperations/fileOperation/fileOperation.C at line 870.

FOAM exiting
----------------------------------------------------

Now I haven't worked through all the tutorials, but this strikes me as an odd error. I have a case of my own setup based on the compressible elbow. Not it does use a polymesh, so it does not complain about the points file. However it simply hangs.

Has anyone had any success running under the "Windows Subsystem for Linux"

Thanks
Andy

Folks,
Realized I needed to create the blocks first
So my installation tests out
rhoSimpleFoam works just fine.
Will post my real problem separately
Thanks
Andy
