Hello,

I'm new to openFoam and when I tried to do the first tutorial ( Driven Cavity Flow) I got this message in the terminal:

Command 'blockMesh' not found, but can be installed with:

sudo apt install openfoam

Befor that failure I used the following code in the shown order:

command:

sudo apt install paraview

answer:
Media change: please insert the disc labeled
'Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS _Focal Fossa_ - Release amd64 (20200731)'
in the drive '/cdrom/' and press [Enter]

command:

sudo sed -i '/cdrom/d' /etc/apt/sources.list

sudo apt install paraview

wget -q -O - https://dl.openfoam.com/add-debian-repo.sh | sudo bash

sudo apt-get install openfoam2012-default

lucas@Lucas:~/openFoam/Tutorial/Lid_DrivenCavityFlow$ blockMesh

Command 'blockMesh' not found, but can be installed with:

sudo apt install openfoam

I cannot explain why I doesn't work and I reinstalled ubuntu 2 times. I hope you guys can help me getting out of this mess.

Many thanks in advance

Perhaps you forgot to source the bashrc file?

You need to source that file when you want to run OpenFOAM.
