Hello All,

I am trying to install OpenFOAM 1.5 on Suse Linux Enterprise server 10.3.
I am new to Linux world so following the readme word by word...everything seems to work fine uptill the point where we need to compile the Paraview3.3-cvs. The ./Allwmake command fails with the following error:

Linking CXX shared library /home/skumar/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.5/lib/linux64GccDPOpt/libPV3FoamReader_SM.so
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lvtkPVFiltersCS

make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/skumar/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.5/applications/utilities/postProcessing'
make: *** [postProcessing] Error 2
make: Target `application' not remade because of errors.
+ '[' '' = doc ']'

my foamInstallationTest script is ruuning fine.

Any help will be appreciated!!!
Thanks in Advance
Rohit Sah

hello,

I guess your system is Suse 10 Enterprise editiond (SLED 10) or OpenSuSE 10.3

Suse has some missing packages esp. mpfr and gmp. download them and it might work.

check the details on my previous post:

Or just use search function and you might find answers, since this has been discussed several times.

My experience:
It was relatively easier to install paraFoam/ParaView on OpenSuSE 10.3 than SLED 10. I use Paraview 3.4.0 precompiled version from Paraview site instead of paraFoam.
One needs to run foamToVTK command to get the data in VTK paraview format & then view in paraview.

good luck
