Dear Foamers,

I am trying to learn myself snappyHexMesh and I am running to a problem that I hope somebody can help me with.
The geometry that I am trying to mesh has a thin channel in it which needs to be meshed but does not need a boundary layer mesh. Up to the layer addition process the meshing goes without a hitch, but after the first layer addition iteration SHM crashes.

 mpirun noticed that process rank 37 with PID 48495 on node ec01b08 exited on signal 8 (Floating point exception).

My hypothesis is that SHM is trying to mesh both sides of this small channel, which will cause the layers to intersect which causes the crash.

Is there a way that I can check if my hypothesis is correct?

Is there a way I can exclude this small channel from the layer addition process?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
