Why does SnappyHexMesh snap out pieces of my stl file?

Hello,
I am creating a shell and tube heat exchanger. I imported stl files from freeCAD and call them through snappyHexMesh. There are 14 parts as follows: 1 & 2 = plates between shell and tube sides 3 - 9 = tubes 10 - 13 = baffles 14 = outside shell including inlets / outlets When I run "snappyHexMesh -overwrite" and "paraFoam" the geometry is all there however the middle of part 14 (the part the surrounds the tubes/baffles is snapped out. This is strange because Part 14 that surrounds the ends of the exchanger is still there. So I changed the geometry a bit: 1) I removed parts 1,2 and 14. 2) I created 5 new cylinders: - 2 for the ends of the exchanger - 2 for parts 1 and 2 (to separate the shell from the tube side - and 1 for around the tubes/baffles (the part that was snapped out before) However I am still getting the same issue of the middle cylinder being snapped out. Is there a particular command that I can use to ensure that the snappy keeps all the parts contained within the middle shell? P.s. I set my location in mesh inside the middle shell. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Is the part (#14) completely inside your blockMesh?
Can you send pictures? I have a hard time understanding your problem. |
