Creating Multi-Region Mesh from CAD File

Dear Foamers,
I am using the chtMultiRegionFoam solver in OpenFoam to simulate a chemical reactor with its cooling circuit. In a sense, this is similar to a heat exchanger with chemical reactions in one flow loop (there is gas, fluid and solid). I already have a CAD file of the complete geometry which I created in Solidworks. I would like to be able to define the different regions and mesh them individually. This is very similar to the Heat exchanger simulation from SimScale. I would be happy if I could do the meshing with a commercial software as for the simulation itself I already setup everything in OpenFoam (and should be cheaper and not necessary). Any ideas on: How to export a complex CAD file? How to define different regions? How to mesh them individually? Thanks a lot for the useful ideas, Kostas |

I guess we have alot of ideas, but there are numerous sources for each point you are mentioning. I recommend going through tutorials, using the forum search tool and google.
