Hi,
I am trying to look at the mesh generated by snappyHexMesh in an effort to improve the mesh quality. Has anyone any suggestions on the best way to view the mesh for this purpose ?
At the moment I am using paraview 3.4. I generate a slice for viewing the mesh around my object in 2D. I currently have a simple, unrefined, cube based mesh. With this paraview displays the set of 2D squares in a grid but adds diagonals to each square. This makes it difficult to view what the mesh actually is especially when I start refining it with snappyHexMesh. Or am I doing something wrong with Paraview ?

There's nothing wrong. As I understand it most algorithms in Paraview only work with hexaders and teraeders so if it encounters a general polyeder it breaks it down into tets. An that are the diagonals you're seeing

Thanks for the info. I thought that might be the case. It does make if difficult to visualise the mesh though.

Does anyone know if there any other software that will provide a 3D display more suitable for viewing the mesh.
