Dear Foamers,
I am trying to import a geometry that I built in solidworks into openfoam: so what I do is I save my solidworks model as an stl file and use snappyhexmesh to use it openfoam. The problem I have is that not all of my geometry is the computational domain, i.e. fluid isn't supposed to pass through entire geometry but only part of it. However when I run snappyhexmesh, it end's up meshing the entire geometry (the whole thing turns into the computational domain I think), which is not what I want it to do. Here's the question: How do I tell snappyHexMesh to create the mesh at only certain parts of my .stl geometry? Is this even possible? And where do I define boundary conditions on the new geometry? Please help, any comments or pointers are welcome. Warm regards. Ammar |
