enGrid training??

Hello,

I have been informally contacted whether or not we intend to offer training for enGrid. Since preparing training material would be a significant effort I would like to take the opportunity and ask if there would be an interest in such a training.

In order to evaluate if we prepare such an offer I would welcome any kind of feedback (e.g. as reply to this message, as personal message, or as email to ogloth[at]engits.com).

Questions of interest are the following:

Would you generally be interested?
What would you expect to learn?
How much might you be willing to pay?
...

Dear Oliver,

I would be interested.

So far I compiled successfully Engrid via the build.bash script on my "aptosid" (debian sid) installation.
But I could not import the motorcycle.stl that comes with the OF tutorials, when I tried experimenting with engrid. =>value for the tolerance (what to choose should be explained)
I would pay up to 1000€ for a engrid training

@Elvis: the "motorBike.stl" file is seriously messed up with holes where they shouldn't be

I don't know if I could spare the time to train in person, but I definitely think there is a place for a better manual for the software, and some more example cases, either in print or as videos (frankly I find it easier to work through a tutorial printed on paper than to follow a video though). Paul Bomer's tutorial is really invaluable, but it doesn't go far enough to explain what all the settings in enGrid do, and why.

Even something explaining the basics of generating a watertight .stl would be a big step forward, though it is a bit application specific.

Right now I am dealing with a 60Mb stl file; it imports OK to ~186K triangles but crashes while surface meshing, unless I set it very coarse. I have no idea why, so I just change settings and run it again, hoping for improvement. Not a very intellectual mode of learning; if I understood the settings more I could at least make educated guesses as to problems encountered. So running through commonly encountered limitations or crashes in EnGrid would be great.
