gflorent is on a distinguished road
Hello,

I am simulating the flow (1.096 m/s) of water around an axisymmetric body (L=0.37 m) using the kOmegaSSTLM and kkLOmega models. I am therefore aiming to get a first BL layer close to Y+=1. Using my own calculator or the online calculator here, I get to the conclusion that my the first layer of my mesh should be around 2e-5 [m] thick. I have no problem generating such a mesh with an hyperbolic mesher and the 2e-5 [m] thickness is enforced over the whole body.
Yet, after solving and converging to realistic results, the yPlus function object of OpenFOAM (1912) yields values that are well below 1 (3.1 e-4 to 4.6e-2) on the body.

What am I missing here?

Cheers.
