polydualmesh and ability to do DNS

hello
I needed some clarification on volume created by polydualmesh.. Since it joins certain tet cell to form a volume, wont the smallest scale that can be captured get reduced (assuming smallest scale capturable= cuberoot(cell volume)). Also does polymesh have any issue in converting the prism layers near the wall surface
