Hello everyone,
I'm trying to simulate the turbulent flow in a Erlenmeyer shaken flask in OpenFOAM. I'm using the interDyMFoam solver for this case. The movement of the shaken flask is a superposition of circular translatoric and rotational movement. The following two equations describe the whole movement of the flask.

Ux=a*omega*cos(omega*t)

Uy=a*omega*sin(omega*t)

Where omega is the angular velocity, t the time and a is the radius.

I tried to use the "linearMotion" function of "solidBodyMotionFvMesh" in the dynamicMeshDict, which is described in the Openfoamwiki. But I could not find a way to use the actual simulation time to caculate the time dependent velocities in each direction. Another idea was to use the "multiMotion" feature to split the movement into two rotational movements. Here I end up with the problem that the second rotation point (center of the shaken flask) changes his position during the simulation. Therefor I also have to specify a time dependent postion of the rotation point.

So my question: Is there somebody who can show me a way to implement this time dependent mesh movement?

Best regards,
Marcel
