Dear Foamers,
I would like to implement a displacement function for the mesh: Using the (funky-)setFields utility the displacement field should be specified and using e.g. the deformedGeom utility the mesh points should be moved. Let's take a simple case first: a constant displacement field, e.g. U = (1 1 1) which should move the mesh by 1 in each direction. The problem is that the utility deformedGeom destroys the mesh! (edit: Happens with versions 3.0.1, 4.1 and 1606+.) Case Example: The following figure shows the geometry with the mesh: Steps (the simple case is attached below as a zip-file): 1.) Create mesh (here using Snappy) 2.) Create displacement field U (using the setFields utility) 3.) Execute 'deformedGeom 1' 4.) checkMesh reports many errors -> the mesh is completely broken (high aspect ratio cells, negative volume cells, non-ortho erros, errors in face pyramids, high skewness) You can download the case here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/h5vgyuiif...rjrtIas0a?dl=0 Question: What's wrong there with deformedGeom?!
