Hello everyone,

I am trying to simulate ventilation analysis problem in OpenFoam with using Salome for CAD/Mesh generation. I want only Hex-Mesh and hence in Salome I am using BODY FITTING algorithm for 3D Mesh generation.

PROBLEM: I am getting Polyhedral elements with Hexahedrons. For CFD analysis I don't want Polyhedron elements. Can anybody suggest me possible solution to not get the polyhedron elements in 3D Mesh.

Thank You

Hi Bhargav,

Go to Mesh module - modification - cutting of quadrangles - Filter - Geometry type - Polyhedron - apply

This operation will divide the unwanted elemets.

I hope it helps.

Regards,
Rajan

Hi...
Is there any way to convert compound into solid object in the salome? I have imported one stl file which directly got converted into compound but I want that as solid for further manipulations. If anyone knows please let me know.

Thank You
Bhargav

May I know what 'further manipulations' you want to do? coz I believe you can do all the operations on 'compound of solids' that u can do on a ' single Solid'.

Hi Rajan,

If i try to do the boolean operation then it is showing error. Anyhow thanks for the update, I will try and find some solution.

One more doubt I have is that we can create multiple translation in geometry module (For example I have created One floor and copied it 33 times to get full building) but can we do same in Mesh module also (after creating mesh for one floor can we copy that mesh 33 times)?

Thanks for your time.

Bhargav
