Hey,
I would perform a simulation of the air around a building. As inlet I should impose a velocity, which is depending on the height Do anyone wrote an Inlet file like this? Do you have any idea where it is possible to find one? Thanks Carlo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_profile_power_law |

Hi Carlo,
If you want to implement varying velocity at the inlet, use swak4Foam, you can just implement the formula that have been described in the reference link, using groovyBC. I once used varying velocity at the inlet for wind turbine simulation, that required ground effects. In that case I have had implemented groovyBC in such a way that the velocity of air at the inlet increases from zero to free-stream velocity in a parabolic manner. Krao |

Hi Carlo, you can also use the atmBoundaryLayer native from OpenFOAM, it will give you an inlet velocity varying with the height following a log law. Check the turbineSiting tutorial, it is used there.
Best Regards, Luis |
