Interpolating fields between time steps

Dear all,
I have made a solver that reads known fields such as velocity eventually only solving a single unkown field. I understand that in order for the CFL number to be less than 1 in a wall-resolving mesh, there needs to be extremely high number of time steps (and thus folders with the known fields) with the specified fields which is: firstly. too many to make; secondly. not flexible to the possibly varying CFL number. Although I am aware that I can force OpenFOAM to read from only the specific time, making a few tens/hundreds of thousands folders with the fields is not a feasible idea. Thus, I am trying to set up the solver to read the nearest given time step before and after and interpolating between these 2 temporal points. (e.g. If I have folders at t=1 and t=2 with the known fields, I would like OpenFOAM to interpolate between these two points for t=0.5) How can I go about setting this up? Is there an already implemented function in OpenFOAM that can aid me in this? |
