Dear Foamers,

I am simulating air jet into water using twoPhaseEulerFoam, and I want to know how to implement a given bubble size distribution? For example, the bubble size varies like a Gaussian curve at any location of the computational domain. Do I need to modify the diameter model in phaseProperties? Is there anyway to achieve this?

I am looking forward to any suggestions!

Well... in twoPhaseEulerFoam the coupling between phases comes from the interaction forces. If you have bubbles in some liquid, the drag depends on the bubble diameter. You can either use one phase for each bubble diameter, or you can define an equivalent bubble radius based on you bubble size distribution.

Dear Federico,

Thanks for your suggestions. What I want to do is to define the bubble diameters using the size distribution as shown in the attachment. Of course I can use an equivalent bubble size of 1.5 mm, but is there anyway to use this distribution profile?

Best,
Jasper

If your question is if there is any place where you put that curve and then the code considers that distribution, the answer is no.

To the best of my knowledge, you should do some modifications to the source code to get a drag model that considers a bubble distribution.
