Hi Foamers,
I知 dealing with the flow of helium thought a packed bed of spheres with heat transfer between the two phases. I知 working with a coupled open source DEM-CFD code (https://www.cfdem.com/) to simulate the influence of the gas flow (helium) on the particles temperature. In my case the gas has a low velocity (in the order of cm/s) however the temperature gradient is high. For this reason, I知 currently trying to implement a new solver (rhoPimpleFoam) in CFDEM to develop a compressible solver to take into account for the density changes. I知 trying to modify the rhoPimpleFoam solver to include the influence of the solid phase on the fluid flow. In particular I would like to include the effect of the volume fraction of particles on the continuous phase as in DPMFoam. Can anyone give some suggestions how to modify the pEqn? Also a reference with the derivation of the pressure equation for compressible case with a solid phase present would be very useful for me. I知 relatively a newbie of OpenFOAM and I would really appreciate any kind of help . Regards Simone |
