Dear all,
I am trying to simulate melt pool simulation with deposition on a substrate. Currently, the code is based on OF8 and has the following. Velocity equation capturing Darcy source term for phase change and surface tension source term. Energy equation with Heat source term and latent heat source term. I tried doing a mass addition script by adding the deposition onto the substrate but the problem is that the initialized temperature is 1600k on the 1st timestep when it started deposition but subsequently it turns into 0K on 2nd timestep onwards. Does anybody know the reason behind this? |

It may be that your time step is too large. It looks as if there moves more heat energy outwards the central body than it has.
There seems an extreme convection in the surrounding fluid too. Or the changes in temperature disappear in the large difference between the phases. Ther shluld be a heat flow visible in the outer phase.
