Consider a source term in a convective-diffusive equation:

\frac{\partial T}{\partial t} + u \frac{dT}{dx} - D \frac{d^2T}{dx^2}= k T

What would be the discretization coefficients associated with kT? Would they be just cell volumes?

The answer depends on implicit or explicit treatment of the term. Implicitly the coefficients are just cell volumes.
