Hi everyone,
I am dealing with a multiphase case but I cannot manage to work it properly... and I am running out of ideas... Here a description of the case. I want to simulate a kind of cyclone, which is intended to separate the components of a mixture, namely water (10%) from co2 (90%), as they go through the cyclone and steady-state is reached. The cyclone is composed of one small horizontal cylinder, which runs tangentially to a big vertical cylinder. Both fluids come together at a certain velocity at the inlet of the small cylinder and when they reach the big one, they are supposed to get split from each other as they go down along the big cylinder due to the effect of the centrifugal forces (the water is supposed to stay at the outer wall of the big cylinder and the co2 at the inner wall) à See attached picture I was trying to run a case with LTSInterFoam (steady state). Here the settings I think fit the best to the resolution of the case: alpha1: inlet 0.9 (90% CO2); outlet (zeroGradient), walls (zeroGradient) U: inlet 10m/s; outlet zeroGradient, walls 0 P_rgh: inlet zeroGradient; outlet fixedValue 0; walls zeroGradient transportProperties: phase 1 CO2 (alpha1: 0.9 in setFieldsDict ); phase 2 (water) Anyone who has already dealt with this kind of problem?
