Dear All,

I have a question regarding using the porosity approach for unsteady flows. In the past (v2.x, I do not exactly remember), there was a function pZones.ddt to take into account the delay due to the superficial velocity, but when I look at the class definition of the porous zones in /src/finiteVolume/cfdTools/porosityModel/porosityModel, I cannot find such functionality as there was before. Why is it so?
Thanks for your comment on this,
Lilla

Hello All,

I am solving a case with a geometry having multiple porous zones, means each zones have different values of D anf F.

For simplicity consider it as a rectangular dust with 3 poorus zones.

If I want to use snappyHexMesh, Can I just draw a rectangle and mesh with out seperating zones and later define cellzones using toposet?

Yes, you can. Though you should double check if your zones defined well. Moreover, you might end up having zones slightly smaller or larger, depending where you have a face-layer ending.

But otherwise, it is a fast and easy way to do it.

Can you please give short idea about setting up topoSetDict?

Hi Everyone,
I am new to openfoam. I want to model a moving packed bed with air flow. I also want to do a heat transfer in the porous solid and fluid. Moving packed bed, I suppose, can be solved by moveDynamicMesh. The air flow dynamics can be solved i a fixed poros media by porousSimpleFoam. But I dont have any idea ho to solve them together?
