kivaTest - more compression cycles

Dear all, i want to investigate the effects on the solution through the stabilization of the initial conditions of turbulence. That's why i want to duplicate the compression phase making 3 cycle of "cold" simulation. In kivaTest i try to modify the controlDict1, the controlDict2 and the start of ignition in combustionProperties but engineFoam crashes while calculating the case for -8° crank angle.
What am I doing wrong?Any suggestions? Thanks to anyone who answers. |

solved! I made a silly mistake. I tried to integrate the TDC with the same time step of the other crank angle. I created a new controlDict for the angles at TDC with a time step 10 times smaller. so runs...
Anyway, i still have a doubt: no one noticed that the pressure values are very low?(i would expect values of at least 40 bar) also by calculating and plotting the ROHR, k and epsilon can not see the effect of combustion...seems to be much slower than the turbulence. am I doing wrong?! Considerations? thanks for the help |
