Hello,

My focus is to do LES of jet flames using OpenFOAM-2.2.x .

I would like to know what are the options I have to enable appropriate turbulent inlet conditions for performing LES of the jet.

Are there separate packages available that can be used to prescribe turbulent inflow conditions for jet type problems ?

Please let me know. Thanks !

Hi,
You can look at the LEMOS library:
http://www.lemos.uni-rostock.de/down...nfoam-content/

I use the inflow generator for my LES applications now and these BCs work fine. I have been used LEMOS as well for my PhD combustion development project as well (you can download and see my solver from http://www.edcpisofoam.decgroup.org/).

Thx, Dmitry

Dear Dmitry,

Did you implement a non-uniform velocity boundary condition at the inlet using LeMOS inflow generator? If so, could you provide me a brief example?
I need to specify a logarithmic velocity profile at the inlet using LeMOS inflow generator, but I have no idea how to do that.

Regards.

Simply use GroovyBC, write after a first time step. copy the list of number at the patch, Change again the type of BC to Lemos at zero folder, paste the list to required location. I cant remember maybe the refField.
So refField value would be nonUniform list< scalar> ....
