I have compiled a solver and when I try to run the case
the log.case reads as :-

Build : dev-2c46bf1554a1
Exec : constvol -parallel
Date : Feb 05 2017
Time : 13:33:55
Host : "pn2"
PID : 25292

[0] --> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
[0] "/usr/people1/krish042/OpenFOAM/krish042-dev/run/SAVITA/const_Vol/Propane1/PROPANE/system/decomposeParDict" specifies 20 processors but job was started with 8 processors.

Can anyone please suggest some ways to resolve the error?

floquation will become famous soon enough
Did you read the error...? It tells you exactly what you did wrong.

Code:
decomposeParDict" specifies 20 processors but job was started with 8 processors.
You decomposed for 20 processors, but then you execute the job using only 8 processors (e.g. using "mpirun -np 8 pimpleFoam"). Those numbers must be the same.
