Hello all,

I am struggling with this problem in the last few days. I have reviewed threads in the forum discussing this error, however I still cannot fix it. It is really a tough one, which is related to many factors.

I am working on flow around muti-element airfoil 30p30n, and the flow condition is Ma=0.2, Re=9e6. The initial values of bcs are verified by my incompressible counterparts. The work I am doing is simplely taking into account the compressibility and transforming my simpleFoam setup to rhoSimpleFoam settings.

My mesh is quite good, and I attached checkMesh result below. The y+ I utilized is around 1~5, hence wall function is not needed.

No matter what settings I used, the same problem always comes out, i.e. the maximum number of iterations exceeded. Now, I do not know what to do and really hope someone could kindly give me a hand.

This problem has been solved. I mistakenly set the wrong values of two constants in the sutherland formula.

Hi,

I just set two constants of sutherland, in thermodynamicsproperty, namely As & Ts to the appropriate value for the air.

Please notice this is not the only reason for you to run into this problem, but for me, that's it.
