Hi foamers,

I have a little doubt ... when I read: "For our discussion of mapFields we need to define a few terms. First, we say that the data is mapped from the source to the target. The fields are deemed consistent if the geometry and boundary types, or conditions, of both source and target fields are identical. The field data that mapFields maps are those fields within the time directory specified by startFrom/startTime in the controlDict of the target case. The data is read from the equivalent time directory of the source case and mapped onto the equivalent time directory of the target case.", on: https://cfd.direct/openfoam/user-guide/mapfields/

... I understand that I need to first run RANS normally (what I'm already doing) and later, in LES, I add the mapFields function, am I correct?

*The geometries and boundary conditions will be the same.*

This is important to me because, according to the recommendations of: (https://www.sharcnet.ca/Software/Flu...ug/node560.htm) - STEP 1.

Thanks

As far as I understand , you don't need mapFields at all. You may run your simulation with a solver and continue with another one. The only thing you have to keep in mind are the additional model parameters of both solvers.

Thanks for your answer.

I just wanted to reinforce it to see if I understood correctly ... Did you say that first I need to run RANS, after getting the results ... in the same folder, modify the parameters for LES, and solve?

Only if you are keeping the same mesh. Otherwise you need to map, just as you thought.
