Hi Foamers,

I am trying to setup a case with radiation model. I saw in the buoyantSimpleFoam tutorial - hotRadiationRoom. Beside radiationProperties, there is another file called boundaryRadiationProperties.

What is this boundaryRadiationProperties? I tried to search online, but didn't find too many useful information. Does anyone know about this?

I faced with the same problem. Fast search in the tutorials folder

find ~/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-plus/tutorials/ -name boundaryRadiationProperties

gives examples of the boundaryRadiationProperties.

If I am correct, it allows to set up inhomogeneous radiation properties

In fact, some cases need it but some don't, why is that

Did you find the answer?
As per my thinking, if we are not adding emissivity in qr/G/IdDefault file for wall then boundaryRadiationProperties is needed and it will take wall emissvity value from it. But, if we give emssivity in qr/G/IdDefault then we don't need boundaryRadiationProperties.
But, I can be wrong since I haven't tested it and hence don't go on my word. Need to test it.
If anyone know then kindly let me know.
