Hi, I am new here.
I started to use OpenFoam v1706 one month ago in order to simulate the movement of the 3D object under the force of the fluid.
I tried it using pimpleDyMFoam but mesh deformation is too big to simulate.
So now I am working on it by using oversetmesh function.
I ran some tutorials about oversetmesh but I could not use oversetmesh(overPimpleDyMFoam) with 6DOF.
How can I use oversetmesh with 6DOF?

Hi, look at this tutorial case:

Code:
$FOAM_TUTORIALS/multiphase/overInterDyMFoam/floatingBody
That one uses 6DoF with overset.

Regards,
Tom

Hi, Thank you for reply.

I could not run the tutorial due to the error below when I use overInterDyMFoam.

—————————————————————————————————-
—> FOAM FATAL IO ERROR:
This code should not be executed by someone with administrator rights due to security reasons.
(it writes a shared library which then gets loaded using dlopen)

file; /home/Desktop/openfoam-plus/tutorials/floatingBody/background/constant/dynamicMeshDict.sixDofRigidBodyMotionCoeffs from line 30 to line 30.

From function static void Foam::dynamicCode::checkSecurity(const char*, const Foam::dictionary&)
in filedb/dynamicLibrary/dynamicCode/dynamicCode.C at line 65.

I use the Openfoam v1706 in docker, how can I avoid this error?
It seems that I can start docker as superuser only.

and I would like to simulate the movement of a complicated shape object placed in the water flow. Is it possible to use the snappyHexMesh to make case of oversetmesh, and give a uniform flow in overInterDyMFoam?

I would not know how to help you with this. Maybe someone else with more experience on Docker/OpenFOAM on Windows can help you with this. It souns like a configuration error, but as I only run natively in Linux I can not help you.

Best of luck!
Regards,
Tom
