Dear OpenFOAMers,
i'm using sprayFoam in OpenFOAM-v1706 for non-reactive fuel injection into a constant combustion volume at different pressures. Now i'm trying to validate the spray model by comparing it with measured data of the liquid penetration length. As you can see in the graph, the simulation reaches the final length far more slowly. I tried to adapt different secondary breakup models, atomization models as well as different turbulence models but none of this worked it out. I suppose that the droplet breakup is just too intense, so i tried to turn it on after a short delay which in turn leads to flawed results in the vapour penetration. Maybe some of you are experienced with this and have further suggestions for me? Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance and kind regards, Will |
