Dear OpenFoamers,

I seem to remember reading that OpenFoam 6 could handle overlapping rotating meshes using AMI, but cannot verify or find anything regarding this when I search now.

Does anyone know if this is possible in the new releases of OpenFoam or OpenFoam-dev?

I found this post which provides a possible method of doing this which I will have to read and understand more thoroughly:

And this page where someone else had a similar problem:
Overlapping AMIs
but was referred to the link above.

I have read the release notes for openFOAM 4 - 6, but can't see anything there either.

Does anyone have any more information/advice on how to tackle this sort of problem.

Sorry if these questions should have been posted the above threads. I didn't want to resurrect old threads.

Yes, that is what I was looking for. I'm going to try see if I can get that running tomorrow.

Hi there,
I just learned a little bit about the method to handle the problem of solid body motion in OpenFOAM, and I'm going to try with overset meshes.
However, since I've got some modified solvers based on OF6, I'm wondering if OF6 can deal with overset meshes? As far as I know it is not possible, can it?

I would not expect it to work with OF6. overset is only available in ESI openfoam (www.openfoam.com).
