[Fuzzy_Wuzzy]

I have made some modifications in a .C file and when I try to compile it by using wmake command, I get the following error in the terminal :

bash-4.2$ wmake
mkdir: cannot create directory '//OpenFOAM': Permission denied
make: *** [//OpenFOAM/skandasubramanya-v2006/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib/kOmegaSSTPANS.so] Error 1

Can anyone help me as to why I am getting this error any how can make it right? I'm new to OpenFOAM so no clue if this is simple error or a complicated one.
