engio is on a distinguished road
I was playing with Taylor-Couette flow (https://wiki.openfoam.com/index.php?...Andras_Horvath) to see whether axi-symmetric simulation is equivalent to the full domain simulation.

* The cases are... (top to bottom, left to right)
1. 5 degree cyclic wedge (structured hex mesh)
2. 30 degree cyclic wedge (structured hex mesh)
3. 60 degree cyclic wedge (structured hex mesh)
4. 180 degree cyclic wedge (structured hex mesh)
5. 360 degree full domain (structured hex mesh)
6. reference case(contributor Andras Horvath, snappyhexmesh?)

The 4th, 5th and 6th case show identical result. But for 1st, 2nd and 3rd case, the wavy pattern increased from 4 to 5 repetition.

My question is, is this behavior comes from cyclic B.C.?
Or, cyclic B.C.(axi-simmetry simulation) is not recommended for vortex flows like Taylor-Couette flow? (Or do I need some minimum azimuthal angle/distance for such flows?)

Any comment/advice is appreciated. Thanks.
