Hi,

I am using chtMultiRegionTwoPhaseEulerFoam to simulate problem for flow through a channel with side walls having thickness, which takes into account of conjugate heat transfer. In this case, liquid enters with phase fraction 1 and gas with 0 phase fraction and upon the course of simulation liquid must vaporize from the two sides, physically.

However, this doesn't happen actually. It seems to be note that flow field is looking okay but not the distribution of phase fraction.

I have attached three screenshots: the first one (temperature field of both fluid and solid), second one (gas phase fraction with solid temperature), and third one (fluid velocity with solid temperature).

Please suggest me some modeling aspects for chtMultiRegionTwoPhaseEulerFoam so that I can rectify it.

Otherthing, that I am worried about the usage of iDmdt in relaxationFactor sub-dictionary.

Regards,
Govind

Hello there

With respect the distribution of volume fraction it depends strongly on the flow rate, if is slow and gravity is set in -y direction stratification occurs just like your case.

I have a question for you, do you know the governing equations of this solver?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks.

Actually, I came up with the reasoning.

Could please tell me about "iDmdt"? or any reference where I can get the info about this.

Regards,
Govind

I am also stuck with that, is very difficult to read the source code as well, if i get some new information i will tell you.

Hi there again

I found some new information about the terms you asked: iDmdt and wDmdt, they are called interfacial mass transfer and boundary mass transfer respectively, you can see a mathematical formula since the line 417 of this link: https://www.openfoam.com/documentati...ce.html#l00056

Is part of the source code

Regards

Oscar
