hi all,
in two or three weeks i will set a link for a dem-code based on liblagrangian ( i have to clean up the code first). the code uses the spring-damper-model from tsuji and will therefore be easy to extend to other collisionmodels. it allows collsions between more than two particles at the same time and uses a cell-linking algorithm to achieve better perfomance. it could be interesting for people doing mol. dynamics or dense particle-flows. anybody interested? stephan |

Hi Stephan,
This sounds interesting! I have done a bit of DEM-simulations using OpenFOAM. I would be happy to see how you have implemented the algorithm and perhaps share some experience I gained in my project. //Rasmus Hemph |

hi,
since i have almost no time rightnow it will take some weeks more - but here 3 pics from a simulation (kuipers, jie li " Gas-particle interactions in dense gas-fluidized beds" -2003) first the situation just after the start and two pics after some seconds. (gas flows come from the whole base plate) the point on these pics is that there is no overlapping. Stephan |

hi,
in case some of the foamers which got the source from the dem are actually using the code: you should double the depth of the bed in blockMeshDict from 0.002 to 0.004 (the size of the particles) and higher the inlet velocity a bit. sorry for the messed up case-dir.. greeting stephan |
