Hi,

I would like to thank the FOAM development group to release FOAM as open source.

Currently, openFOAM supports 2-phase/2-component with surface tension and wall contact angle. I am wondering if anyone has tried to extend it to handle more than 2 components (say 3 and more, air/water/oil) with multiple surface tensions and wall contact angles? To achieve this, one needs to solve more than one volume fraction equation and the code needs to identify the correct surface tension/contact angle to use for each cell. I am new to FOAM, so, I still have no clue how to do this yet.

Wish you all foam developers and user a happy new year!

Pei

Hi Pei,

We have wanted to generalise (multi-phase compressible) our VOF codes for some time, but have not had the resources to do so to date. Have a look at the existing codes (interFoam, lesInterFoam) for clues and keep the board updated of your progress.
