Hello all!
I found that actuatorDisk-fvOption gives low deficit in velocity when simulating a single windturbin in flat terrain, taking in consideration the ABL B.C. Maybe, it comes from a bad input of information in fvOption dictionary. I have not found thesis or papers that uses this tool that comes with openfoam, so I don't have a reference if my inputs are ok or if this tool is trully reliable... My case: Stream flow goes in +x, the 'y' is spanwise axis and 'z', vertical. My windTurbine is 80 m diameter, its hub height is 80 m, and it's hub-centre is located at P1(500,640,80)m. This case actuator is a SINK. I don't have the curve of cp or ct but I know the values of them for Uhub, that's why I entry them as a constant: Quote:

I appreciate any comments about this tool or other solutions to approach wind turbine simulation via AD method in openfoam. Thanks! |

The disk area should be pi/4*80^2 is about 4800.
