Hi,

I'm trying to summarize the details of the subgrid scale (SGS) models in OpenFOAM.
So far, I've posted information on the following two models:
I'm going to write about the WALE model.

Best regards,
Fumiya

It would be nice to add this to the OpenFOAM wiki otherwise I have the feeling that your posts / blog will disappear during the time and your work is lost.

Dear Tobi,

Thank you for your suggestion.

I understand that there is a community project (https://wiki.openfoam.com/Tutorials)
to gather useful tutorials and you are a contributor.
I'm willing to contribute to the community by sharing my findings.

Could you tell me how to add my posts to the OpenFOAM wiki?
Are there any instructions available?

Best regards,
Fumiya

Dear Fumiya,

it is finally up to you where you want to put it. The wiki you mentioned is a guided tutorial collection. I am only there because I made so many different tutorials and share it with the community. However, if you will go through the 3-weeks-series you will find out that I am not there - only in the last day of the tutorial there is something mentioned about: "further investigation into special cases" (or something like that) which will guide the reader to my tutorials. In other words, my stuff is not really related to the purpose of the wiki site.

However, you have several options:

- the wiki you mentioned
- the openfoamwiki.org
- keep your blog alive and connect it to (at least) the openfoamwiki
- maybe you could also put your stuff into my book :P

Nice work by the way.

Dear Tobi,

Thank you for your reply.

I personally plan to continue my blog and want to enrich the quality and quantity of it.
Additionally, I want to collaborate with many contributors all over the world such as you
to create a synergy effect and provide more useful, reliable and accurate information.

Your book is my favorite so I would be delighted if I could contribute to it!

Best regards,
Fumiya

That sounds good. In my personal perspective there is a lack of documentation of the code. Okay, if you are a programmer there is no need because we have Doxygen but I think your work is be highly valuated in the community. Thumbs up for your great work at least because it is not self-evident.

To get some feedback makes me flattered and a bit proud
So if you want to contribute to the book as a second author and add your stuff about turbulence models we can talk about that via mail.

All the best,
Tobi

Dear Tobi,

I think reading source code helps us to greatly improve our understanding of the models implemented in OpenFOAM
than merely reading the references. Additionally, it will be of help to our customizations.

I'm goint to send an email to you.

Best regards,
Fumiya

P.S.
I'm not a programmer but an engineer

Hi,

I have uploaded a new post about WALE model:
http://caefn.com/openfoam/wale-sgs-model
http://caefn.com/openfoam/les

Final expression of the SGS eddy viscosity is relatively simple and the implementation
into OpenFOAM is not so complicated but the process of deriving the expression described in the reference
is not easy to understand. I want to develop my SGS model someday!

I will upload some animations next year.

Best regards,
Fumiya
