I have a question about the openfoam release version and can not find the answer. The release version, for example version 5.0, will include later bug fix or not, or this is just a snapshot for the release date?

Thank you.

Thanks for your quick reply. So if I want to include the later bug fixes, I'd have to use the dev version or the 5.x version, and compile the source code myself?

As far as I know they provide weekly precompiled version via apt.

Dev should be packed weekly but you are right. If you want to have the latest bugfixed you should use the dev version or at least 5.x, pull the new fixes and recompile it again. As Anton said, 5.0 is just a snapshot.

Thanks Tobias for your clarification. So if I want a stable and bug fixed version, 5.x is my best choice.
