Hi guys,

Maybe someone know what this error is about ?

Code:

--> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
Operator + is undefined for oriented and unoriented types

I cant find any explanation regarding this output message.

I'm using PimpleDymFoam
for passive scalar transport problem.

Hi there,
did you find the cause for this error? I'm getting the same but for pisoFoam and a normally already proven case. Does it have to do something with the mesh maybe?

Hi,

I have the same problem. this problem occurs for piso based solvers not for simpleFoam and although it can solve U, it gives an error calculating p.

Interestingly, while ı got this error with OpenFOAM 1612, OpenFOAM 5.0 doesnt give any error and start to calculate p. Is there anyone having an idea?

Actually I found the issue causing the error in my case. I simply forgot to change the time scheme in fvSchemes from "steadyState" to a transient one ("backward"). As pisoFoam is a transient solver it obviously crashed.
