Hello all,
I'm using OpenFoam v4 and modelling turbulence using k-epsilon model.
Checking the coded k-epsilon equations (https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...lon/kEpsilon.C), I couldn't find any references in the literature similar to what is implemented.
The form implemented in OpenFoam v4 is different from those I could see on:
- Launder, B. E., & Spalding, D. B. (1974),
- El Tahry, S. H. (1983),
- Rusche H. (2002),
- Behzadi A., (2001 and 2004),
- and in https://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Stan...-epsilon_model
Do you have references regarding the OpenFoam v4 k-epsilon model?
Thank you for your help,
mhrz

Thank you for your help.
I have checked these files and, unless I'm wrong, the equations implemented are the ones I'm showing in the attached image. Again, these equations don't correspond to the ones referenced in the file.
Thanks for your time and help.

Thank you for sharing the link.
The code has a little bit changed in version 4 but it's still very useful.
Do you know how source terms "kSource()" and "epsilonSource()" are implemented?
My understanding is that they are used for bubble induced turbulence in the case of two-phase dispersed flow.
Thank you.
