Hi folks!

I'm a public academic researcher and in our department we want to create a software that would allow us to simulate complex chemical reactors.

I want to base that software on Openfoam, i.e. to use it to describe the flow and heat transfers.

However, we want to keep that new software for ourselves. It will be our private non-commercial in-house software.

Let's suppose we call it (very originally) ChemSimu.

If it is dependent on Openfoam, will the Open Source License force us to give the source code of ChemSimu to anyone asking for it?

If that really were the case, shouldn't the source code of commercial software offering a GUI for Openfoam such as Ansa or Caedium be available to everyone as well?

Many thanks for your help!
